St. John Bosco Parish Church

Rating: 4.5

When we were searching for a church our main considerations were the following: 1. A church within Makati. 2. Air-conditioned (since our wedding was a summer month) 3. With ample parking space for the guests and St. John Bosco Parish Church met all our requirements.
Ms. Ging was easy to deal with. Our pre-cana, marriage counseling, confession and rehearsal went on smoothly. It was also a plus factor that the pre-cana certificate issued by the ME group at SJBPC was honored by the Makati City Hall when we applied for our marriage license. It saved us a day of seminar for the counseling and family planning.

I loved how the church looked on our wedding day. The whole church was draped with curtains which gave the church a more private/intimate feel. We didn’t see the need to get additional flowers because the altar was beautiful as it is.

The only thing that bugged me about the church is that Jas and I personally approached Fr. Ting if he could officiate the mass for our wedding and he did say yes. I also informed Ms. Ging about it so that she could squeeze us in Fr. Ting’s schedule. I even called the parish office before I had the misalletes reproduced to confirm if it was Fr. Ting who would officiate the mass. Come our wedding day, I was surprised to see Fr. Richard at the altar. Fr. Richard was nice and kind, and I have nothing against him, we were just caught by surprise to see him there instead of Fr. Ting.

Wack Wack Golf and Country Club

Rating: 5++++

We both loved the Pavilion when we first went to Wack Wack for the ocular. The Pavilion had ample space for our 200 guests since the place could hold 300 people. There was also sufficient parking space for our guests. We loved its high ceiling and we saw the potential of the place with drapes and mood lights, we knew that it would be perfect for us.

The staff at the F & B department was easy to deal with and it was totally a stress-free transaction with them. On our wedding day, Pavilion B was vacant since they don’t book two events at the same time so we got to use a portion of Pavilion B for the registration and Photo booth area.

VS & F, Inc.
Rating: 5++++

We’re very happy with VS &F because good food was served and we had so much food for the cocktails, dinner and dessert. After the wedding a lot of our guests were raving about the food. Some even asked me for VS & F’s contact person because they really enjoyed the food.

I loved the set up because everything that Val and I asked discussed was followed. From the table set-up to the overall layout, it was perfect. Val stayed throughout the event just as I requested I even noticed that he was helping out the waiters.

We had an assisted buffet set-up for the guests without an additional fee. We also got a lot of freebies because all payments were made during bridal fairs which qualified us to get the freebies. We got one round table, cocktails and dessert upgrade for free. Happiness!

Dusit Thani Manila

Rating: 5++++

The newly renovated Dusit Thani Hotel was beautiful. The staff was very accommodating and courteous. We got the Grand Room which was spacious so we were able to accommodate all our suppliers in the room. We were also allowed to have our pictorial at the lobby with no additional cost. Breakfast at Basix was appetizing.

Amonn Velasco

Rating: 4.5

We booked Amonn Velasco around September of 2009; I loved the gowns displayed at a Bridal Fair held at PICC Forum. Prior to booking him at the fair, I frequently visited his website to check out his new designs. Accessibility was another reason why we got him since his shop is located in Makati.

It was late in November when we first went to his shop. He was able to get the measurements of the whole entourage since I asked everyone to come on that day. I brought with me a few pegs for my entourage but we decided to go with Amonn’s design because it was way better than the pegs I had. For my gown, I really had a hard time choosing which gown I should show Amonn for him to get an idea of what I like so when we discussed my gown I just asked him for a non-tube gown that isn’t too white nor too shiny. Amonn sketched a gown for me, the see through fabric was a solution for my non-tube preference and I super loved the back part of the gown.

Our 1st fitting was scheduled on the 1st week of March but was moved to the last weekend of March since most of the gowns were not yet done during the early days of March. I was super happy when I saw the gowns because he found the right materials for the gowns. Amonn got the perfect shade of midnight blue and silver which matched our color motif. Another plus factor is that he chose the right type of cloth because I told him not to use shiny cloths for the gowns. The FGs gowns fitted them perfectly, only minor adjustments were needed for the length of their gowns. As for the gowns of my MOH and BM and SS’ a few adjustments was still needed for their gowns. During the first fitting, our Mom’s gowns were not yet done.

The succeeding fittings we had with Amonn somehow eased my worries because one by one the gowns became ready for the beadwork. When I tried on my gown, the fit was just right so I asked him if he could maybe loosen it a bit since I was doubtful if I could shed off a few more pounds. Amonn didn’t make the adjustments since it would ruin the shape of my gown which challenged me to stick with my diet.

The waiting time for the final release of the gowns got me a bit worried. With constant prayers and frequent follow ups Amonn was able to pull it off. The entourage gowns were released a week before our wedding. I got my gown on the 12th of May which was two days before our wedding but seeing the gown made me realize that the wait was worth it.

Come our wedding day, Amonn and Danica came to Dusit Thani to help dress us (me, Mom’s and MOH) up. While at the hotel there was a minor problem with one of the mom’s gown and it was a good thing that Amonn was there to fix it. As for my gown, it was perfect. Loved the beadworks, and the fit. Friends kept telling me that the gown was beautiful and even asked for Amonn’s contact number.

Rey Casedo

Rating: 5++++

Mang Rey is another supplier I got from w@w. Our transaction with Mang Rey was hassle free. Instead of going to Laguna, he came to our place so that we could choose from the cloth to be used for their barong. We had a tough time choosing from the selections that he brought with him because they were all nice. It was on November when we first met with Mang Rey and by January he was able to deliver the Barongs.

Mykey

Rating: 5++++

Mykey transformed me into a beautiful bride on our wedding day. He was the 1st supplier to arrive the hotel; he was there as early as 7:00 am. The moment he got there he started working on my look; it’s a good thing that we started early because when Gilbert’s team got there I was almost made up. Mykey gave me a no makeup look which I really loved. To complete my look, Mykey even created my headdress which matched my gown. I remember friends who came to our wedding complimenting my look (hair and make up). It was also Mykey who did my sister’s hair and makeup. Of course, she was stunning! Jeff (Mykey’s assistant) did our Mom’s hair and makeup. Our mom’s looked great!

Fab Occassions

Rating: 5++++

I love Camz and the rest of the Fab Occasions team, a lot of our guests commented on how organized our wedding was and it wouldn’t be possible without the Fab team. Days before the wedding, Camille gave me checklist of the things I needed to bring to the hotel for the big day which I found to be very useful because on the last few days before the wedding I was super stressed. On the day of our wedding, seven (7) of them arrived at the hotel around 8:15. The moment they arrived they all got busy started working.

We got their on the day coordination but I felt that we got more than what we paid for, we had three meetings with Camz and everytime we met she would remind me of the things I have yet to accomplish. We booked them as early as July 2009 and since then I’ve been constantly communicating with Camille regarding the preps. I appreciate that she responds to e-mails, txt messages and phone calls.

Rejectkrew

Rating: 5++++

As a w@wie, I often heard good reviews on Elmer so I really wanted Elmer to be our lights and sounds supplier. It was Elmer’s availability that was the deciding factor, before our wedding date was finalized. When he finally confirmed that he was free for our day, it was just then that we confirmed our reservation at St. John Bosco Parish Church and Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. We booked Elmer almost a year before our wedding and I got in touch with him with mostly through text messages. Being the busy person that he is, I appreciate that he finds time to respond to my queries. Super humble and super polite too.

I was not able to give Elmer a list of songs because we got Anima Choir to sing at our ceremony and reception but I really appreciate the songs he played during the games (bouquet and garter toss). I think he handled the queuing of the music well. He’s also familiar with the set-up of Anima Choir so I didn’t give him instructions regarding their set-up.

I loved the set up he did for the reception venue, the place looked elegant with the mood lights he did for the Pavillion. The lighting for the couples’ backdrop was great too.

Anima Choir

Rating: 5++++

I really love this group. Super galing! We met Roger once which was almost a year before our wedding. We were supposed to meet weeks before the wedding but due to our busy schedule we were not able to set the meeting with him. We were able to finalize our song line up a few days before the wedding through e-mails, phone calls and txt messages. Come our wedding day, everything we discussed was followed.

I loved their rendition of my bridal march song “Tunay na Ligaya”. It was a tear jerker. The songs from the ceremony up to the reception were sung beautifully. A lot of our guests asked about them coz they were really remarkable.

3rd Generation Productions

Rating: 5++++ (For Pre nup and On-the-Day Coverage)

Found Gilbert while going through the archives of w@w. I saw sis Rica’s onsite video which was done by Gilbert Obispo which got us interested in getting him as our P/V. We were looking for a photo journalist approach since we were somewhat avoiding someone who’d make us pose on our prenup shoot and wedding day. ;) Prior to booking him we had several exchange of e-mails, txt messages and phone calls and he was so patient in answering my queries.

We had our prenup 10 days before our wedding. Our shoot was scheduled at 4:00 PM and we got there at 4:10 and minutes later it was raining so hard that it was impossible to shoot. After 30 minutes of praying, the rain stopped so were able to proceed with our shoot. It was fun working with Gilbert and Jun. The first shots were hard since we were feeling a bit conscious being the subject of their lens but after much encouragement and coaching they were able to capture beautiful shots. With only 10 days before the wedding, Gilbert was able to produce our guest book which showed our prenup photos. It was awesome!

Come our wedding day, Gilbert and his team arrived early at the hotel. Minutes later they were all busy capturing moments of the preps and taking photos of some of our wedding stuff. I haven’t seen most of the raw photos yet but I’m sure they’ll be great. We both loved the AVP he did which showed our growing up years, was so pleased with the outcome considering that we only gave him the photos when we had our prenup. Loved our onsite too, will upload it as soon as I get the reedited version.

Missy Ferrer-Litao

Rating: 5++++

Missy is another w@w find. We chose not to get the emcee from our caterer since we wanted to be sure that we’ll get someone who could really host the reception well. During our wedding she was bubbly and articulate. She was in control of the whole program and friends gamely participated in the games. We loved her!

Goldenhills

Rating: 5++++

We both wanted two tone rings with no stones and we found our perfect rings at Goldenhills. Barbie (our AE) was very accommodating; she was also prompt in replying to my queries.

Angels of Heart

Rating: 5++++

We booked Angels of Heart at a Bridal Fair and it was the only time we met Lawrence. I was not able to go to their shop for the mock up but come our wedding day beautiful flowers arrived and I super loved my yellow callas. It surprised me that due to the slight change on the number of our female PS, Lawrence was able to give me headdress for our flower girls. We even got offertory flowers, loose petals, throw bouquet and several roses used for the games for free.

Flowers Unlimited

Rating: 5++++

We got Flowers Unlimited to do the partial drapings for the ceiling of Wack Wack’s Pavilion A. Having the drapes made the Pavilion elegant. Rolan and Michelle were easy to deal with. I only met Michelle once when we booked them at the SMX Bridal Fair almost a year before our wedding. A week before the wedding we called Rolan to ask if he could provide drapings to cover the bar area for the couples backdrop, he said yes and agreed to do it for free. =)

It was only during our last meeting with Val of VS & F that we realized that the glass windows of the Pavilion needed draping as well to cover the view of the pool area for a more intimate feel (Our wedding was in May so the pool area was pretty much occupied by club members and those with swimming lessons). This was an additional expense for us since we didn’t provide a budget for the additional drapings so when Rolan gave me his rate I immediately asked him for a discount and he gave us a 50% discount.

Printrade Society Printers

Rating: 5++++

We booked Printrade at a Bridal Fair at SM Megamall. We wanted our invitations simple and elegant and we found the perfect invitation at Printrade. Ms. Anne was easy to deal with and revisions for the invites were done fast. Since we booked them at the bridal fair, we got our save the date cards for free which we exchanged for our map cards for the invites. Gift tags were also provided for free.

Photobot Manila

Rating: 5++++

A lot of our guests enjoyed the Photobooth. They have good quality prints and the printing time was fast enough. Loved the layout they did for the photos. Liked the tarp too, they were able to match it with our invites.

We also appreciate, Ms. Agie’ honesty, we booked them for four (4) hours but during the reception a lot of our guests went home after the program so we were not able to consume four (4) hours so they gave us a refund for the unused 30 mins.

Vienna Cakes

Rating: 5++++

Got them for our cake and gifts to PS at a Bridal Fair at NBC Tent since it was an on the spot booking we got 10 mini cakes for free. Our AEs Gemma and Cecille were easy to deal with. Prior to booking them, I really had no idea how I wanted our cake to look like, but a few months before the wedding we wanted a specific design for our cake so I asked them if it’s possible to change our cake design. They asked me to send a photo of the cake but was later told that they’ll have to charge us extra. An additional expense for the cake was out of the budget so I made a few adjustments on the cake design and requested for uniformity on the swirls for the first and third layer. After several exchange of e-mails we were able to finalize and agree on our cake design at no extra cost. On our wedding day, I loved how the cake looked. Everything that we discussed was followed except for the second layer of the cake which was supposed to be in blue was in white. Having it in white was way better than having it in blue, it was perfect.

Fly toManila

Rating: 5++++

Fly to Manila is another W@W find. I was looking for an affordable bridal car since we didn’t want to spend so much for the car which we’ll be using for just a couple of hours. We got their white BMW. Ronnie was easy to deal with. The bridal car arrived on time, the aircon was just right. I even requested for a change in the appearance of the flowers because the flowers displayed in his website was too large for me. Come our wedding day, the flower arrangement was a bit smaller. Manong driver was friendly and polite, he was also familiar with the road so our travel time from the church to the reception wasn’t that long.

Rachebelli Wines

Rating: 5++++

We got Rachebelli Wines as gift for our PS. Chello was easy to deal with. Our wines were delivered on time and we got personalized wine labels for free.

Embellish by Christine (wedding cord)

Rating: 5++++

I love the cords made by Christine. Initially, it was supposed to be in pearls but when she sent me photos of the pearls they appeared to be on shade of peach so I asked her for crystals and silver instead. When she sent me a photo of the cord, I loved it. It was exactly how I imagined our cord.
